Graham Gooch's battered England arrived at the Wankhede Stadium on the 19th February 1993 hoping to gain some pride after India had spun a web of destruction on England's batsmen in the first two tests. Despite winning the toss, England's top order could not take advantage and it took fine innings from Graham Hick to steady England's sinking ship. He was last out for 178, his maiden Test century, and England's total of 347 looked set to thwart India's whitewash hopes. Enter local lad Vinod Kambli who delighted the 45,000 adoring fans with his dazzling display of strokes. Playing in only his third Test match, the left-hander tore into England's mediocre attack to reach 224, the best ever by an Indian against England. India's impressive 591 gave them a first innings lead of 244 runs. England's top order failed to make an impression and at 34/3 it was left to Smith, Gatting and Hick to offer any sort of resistance. But India's spinners once again proved too tricky for the flat-footed tourists who were bowled out on the final day for 229. Another resounding victory, this time by an innings and 15 runs, completed India's first ever sweep of a Test series. Follow the progress of this historic Test as cameras from all over the ground and behind the scenes provide a wonderful spice to the coverage. Smokeout Presents Body Count Featuring Ice-T, at Woolworths
Set against the backdrop of the worst fires in Californian history, the Sixth Annual SmokeOut Festival featured over 40 world-class artists on four stages at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California. Despite torrential rain and equipment problems, the band blazed through hits like KKK B***h and the End Game, exceeding their set time and setting off a chain of delays in true metal tradition.
